Small 6 ha farm, 5,5ha in the hills in S.lucia, Portoferraio and 0,5ha in Lacona, Capoliveri 200m from the sea. The farm is run by Sara who takes care of everything, along with help from all the friends and relatives who occasionally come to help out when they can. Comisana breed sheep for the production of milk to make cheese, wool and for lambs. We have 7 hens, two cats and a sheepdog. The farm has been started recently and there is no farmhouse at the moment, Sara lives 10km away but she is on the farm from 7 to 19. We need help to develop and set up a vegetable garden, orchard, and plant saffron and with various other jobs such as harvesting wild herbs and aromatic flowers. There is another WWOOF farm close by. Accommodation for 1-4 people in comfortable caravan. We speak Italian and English.
This is a family farm located 5km from Cecina and 7km from the sea. Our family is made up of Christian and Susanne (grandparents), Angela and Matthias (ourselves) and our children Raffael (7) and Luca (3). We have farmed organically for over 25 years and it is our life. We have hens, geese, ducks, donkeys, a pony, three cats and our dog Simba. We have 2000 olive trees, fruit trees, nuts, herbs and a large family vegetable garden. As accommodation we have an apartment (if available) or a room (for 2) with own bathroom. We always eat together (we eat everything but cannot cater for vegans); We use our own produce or sometimes organic and local products. We would like to collaborate with 1 or 2 WWOOFers at a time and we agree on trust and based on the work required. If you enjoy being in nature and learning about organic farming you are very welcome to come and stay in our family.
We are a small family farm of about 8 ha. in Populonia, close to the magical Gulf of Baratti. We mainly produce honey and oil, but we have recently introduced new crops: cereals, hemp and ancient seeds. In addition to this we have a small vegetable garden and a flower garden to see the bees in action. We have recently approached permaculture and am very interested in sharing experiences with those who, like us, love and respect nature. We have cats, three dogs, chickens but our idea is to increase the number of animals: we are proceeding to become a small educational farm, we work a lot with children. We can accommodate all year. Only in the summer months in the tent, for the rest of the months we have a small apartment for two people, with stove and heating and private bathroom. The main help is for olive picking and pruning, all honey processing (depending on the period) but also soap production, and all the jobs that country life requires! I speak English and little Spanish.
Our farm is located on the Costa degli Etruschi, in Donoratico, in the province of Livorno, 4.5 km from the sea. Lovers and respectful of nature, in 1993, by choice, we converted our farm to organic. In the past, for years, the main crops were: vineyard, olive grove and artichokes; for about twenty years we have oriented our production on wheat, and in particular on extra virgin organic olive oil, thanks to our 1400 olive trees, and to the vegetable garden for our consumption and pleasure. We take care of all the production cycles of each crop, for the olive trees for example we fertilization, pruning up to harvesting the fruit and bottling and selling the finished product, for the vegetable garden instead we prepare the soil, we plant the seedlings, fertilize, irrigate and harvest. We welcome wwoofers into the family, sharing with them our daily life, helping with the work in the fields, having lunch and dinner together. We offer accommodation with other wwoofers in an apartment on our farm.
The farm is located on the Etruscan coast about 5 km from the village of San Vincenzo and the sea. It covers an area of approximately 30 hectares where we grow olives, ancient fruits, vegetables, cereals and raise chickens, rabbits and ducks and is certified by ICEA 2000. We also have as pets - horses, donkeys, dogs and cats. On the farm, which is very scenic, there is also an agritourism and a restaurant that uses mainly farm and local products. We recycle our waste and we have solar panels that provide almost all of our needs. The main jobs on the farm are harvesting wild herbs, in the garden, orchard and olive grove, caring for the animals and all the other activities that are necessary for the running of a farm. We also have a large botanical garden which we care for with love and that gives us all the flowers and edible herbs which we use in the kitchen. The accommodation is in an apartment near the farm which you share with other WWOOFers. We need help especially in spring (February March April May) and autumn (September-October). We look for people who want to stay with us at least one month, we speak fluent English, French, German.
We are a couple and with our 5 children from 14 to 27 we have an organic farm of 7.5 hectares with vines, olives, cereal crops and vegetable production near the coast. We also have an agritourism, a donkey and chickens. Accommodation in room, tent or with the family. Help needed all year round with the cultivation and harvesting of produce. Children welcome by arrangement. We speak a little English and German.
Our small family – run farm of 5 hectares, at 1 km from the medieval village of Campiglia Marittima, was born from our desire to live a simpler life tied to the rhythms of nature: in 2010 we came to this important decision after finishing university studies in Turin and after having had business experiences in Italy and abroad. Today, we produce olive oil, white and red wine, we have a large vegetable garden and some animals (8 chickens, 7 pheasants, 2 geese, 3 cats and our family dog Byron). From 2013 we have also opened a small Agritourism. We are looking for people really interested in sharing our work with us, interested in learning and exchanging experiences for the olive harvest, extracting the oil in our small olive mill, pruning, management of the vineyard and vegetable garden, with small maintenance jobs and for many other activities. We would like to host 1-2 WWOOFers all year round in a two-room apartment, (from October to December up to 4 WWOOFers for the olive harvest) for a minimum stay of 15 days. Languages spoken: Italian and English. Waiting for you, ciao for now Giulia & David (we are around 40)
